Welcome to Our Forest School Club!
If you're seeking an after-school club that's a little different — one that blends outdoor discovery with practical, hands-on learning — then our Forest School Club could be just what you're looking for. It's a place where children can freely explore their curiosity, learn important life skills, and form a meaningful connection with nature.
Benefits of Forest School:
Creativity and Imagination:
Forest School provides a space where children can freely explore and express themselves. They have the chance to engage in many creative activities, whether that’s through craft, building forts, role play, acting out stories, building bug hotels and much more!
Teamwork and Critical Thinking:
At Forest School, children have the freedom to pursue their own interests and choose what they want to create and do. Working together, they solve problems and engage in critical thinking to achieve their goals. This might be through setting up an assault course, building a fort, crafting a seesaw, constructing a bug hotel, making bird feeders and dream catchers, or inventing various games with unique rules. These activities encourage children to discover skills they didn’t know they had, developing relationships with others and with nature. These experiences boost their self-confidence and their understanding of their place in the natural world.
Bonding with Nature:
There's something special about connecting with the natural world. Forest School gives children the opportunity to not just learn about, but truly experience nature. They might find themselves observing insects, planting seeds, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the outdoors. It's a chance to appreciate the environment, understand its inhabitants, and enjoy its beauty.
Holistic Development:
Forest School is more than just a place to play. It's where children can just be children while they grow in all sorts of ways. They can run around, climb, and play games, which is great for their health and coordination. While they're out exploring nature, they're also learning about the world around them in a hands-on way. It's not just about being outdoors; it's about learning to work together, share experiences, and build friendships. Children have the opportunity to develop confidence, physical skills, problems solving skills, social skills and improve their mood.
